Direct Auto Source is a family owned and operated business that specializes in the care of Asian Imports. The two brothers have always had a passion for cars, but Frank has always had more of a hands on approach. He began repairing cars almost four decades ago, and has serviced all makes and models of vehicles over the years, focusing on Japanese imports.
Starting his career as a mechanic for Honda Cars of Mesa in 1981, he has spent 38 years honing his craft. He served as a mechanic at Honda Cars of Mesa and various independent repair facilities until 1998. As a highly qualified and sought after mechanic, Frank took a position at Hon*Amotive of Tempe, leading the way as a top mechanic in a busy Honda and Acura based repair facility. His skill set as a mechanic, integrity, and customer service abilities landed him as the General Manager of this facility and put in him charge of the entire operation. He spent 8 years at Hon*Amotive, and was an integral part of the businesses growth and success year after year. Managing both locations, Frank’s confidence in how to run a business grew as well as his client base, relationships, contacts, and his expertise as a mechanic.
In 2006, it was time to branch out on his own and start his own repair business and The Import Shop was born. Staying true to his roots, the east valley based repair facility was small but personal and Frank treated each and every customer like family. His customer base grew exclusively on a repeat customer and referral basis only. His honest and fair approach to a sometimes tainted industry has provided him hundreds of loyal customers. Over the years, these same customers have come to Frank to inspect and get his opinion on vehicles they were considering purchasing. They often asked him if he himself had any cars for sale or knew of a customer car for sale that he had serviced over the years. As these requests became more and more frequent, Frank with the assistance of his brother Pat, seized the opportunity to take the worry out of the used car buying experience and provide a quality and reliable used car for their customers.
In 2018, a dealer license was added and The Import Shop became Direct Auto Source. Other than the name, not much else changed. Vehicle repair is still the center of daily activity at the shop and Frank is still following the same principles and values he always has, providing honest and fair repair services and a quality product.
